SAUR introduces mechanization to paving
Setting concrete blocks (paving), with ease and precision is possible with the mechanization of this activity. To this end SAUR provides a solution, bringing exclusively to the Brazilian market the Paving Machine, from the German company Probst.
With their compact construction and double articulation, all the varieties of the VM paving Machines are excellent for carrying out the work of setting pavement in any area, including areas of reduced space, such as underground garages, corridors and pedestrian pavements, due to their double articulated steering which permits manoeuvring in more narrower spaces. All the exterior finishings are adapted to the steering geometry, which means that, when there are obstacles, there are no protruding elements on the vehicle.
The Paving Machine from Probst, has as one of its principal advantages the time savings in paving, with a crew of three people it is possible to complete the paving of 800 m2 of floor in eight hours of work.
CiSBRA Blocos Technologia em Concreto, a company focused on solutions for fast and efficient execution of paving works, of the city of Ijuí in Rio Grande do Sul, observing the demands of an emerging market and, at the same time, recognising difficulties with both the quality of products and the scarcity of skilled labour to carry out the work, sought through the acquisition of a paving Machine, model VM 203, sold by SAUR, to resolve or minimize these problems, maintaining their quality and productivity.
About to start work on the paving of 60,000 m2 and with another 100,000 m2 expected by the end of the year, Cisbra started to use the machine to facilitate the work.
According to the civil engineer and administrative partner of Cisbra, Everton Robson dos Santos, the most significant advantage of the machine sold by SAUR is the easy configuration of equipment for various types of pavements and ground. "The claws of the machine possess devices that permit them to adapt to the floor design requested, for example, rectangular or sixteen sided. As to the ground, it can be used in large areas such as courtyards, roads and even in restricted areas such as passageways." he added.
Everton pointed out that to guarantee the efficiency of the equipment and obtain high productivity it is necessary that the paving arrives at the site palletized in the format defined by the Project, such as fishbone at 90° or 45°, as the function of the machine is to set the flooring as it is distributed on the palette.
Equipped for all circumstances and situations, the Machine also has a enclosed modern design cabin that comes with heating and windscreen wipers. The operator has a wide angle of vision, both forward and to the rear, which provides for greater safety and work quality.
A low centre of gravity, located in the centre of the Machine, provides excellent stability and a safe position for operation. The paving machines have double articulation and, even turning at tight angles, do not disturb the compacting of recently placed pavement.
The machine allows the manipulation of double stacked packets to a height of 1600mm, saving considerable time in movement.
The engineer Jorge Ficht, a sales consultant for SAUR, says that the Brazilian market is adapting itself to this new technique, with large projects in view. "The Paving Machine is an efficient solution, as it guarantees a reduction in the delivery schedule as well as uniformity in setting of the floor', he emphasized.
