Increase your knowledge about recycling, the benefits and the mechanization in debris at scrap handling.

The recycling of solid residues, especially ferrous scrap, is a source of great economic and socioenvironmental performance. According to the study of GO Associados * last year, the recycling of metal used by steel industries is less damaging to the environment, generating economy to other materials and reducing the power consumption index significantly, by 75%.

The efforts that have been made in Brazil by associations, learning institutions, technological centers and Brazilian recycling companies must be highlighted, since this issue needs more visibility, investment, studies and public-private partnerships.

In March this year, OECD – Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), released a list with the 10 countries that recycle the most in the world. Germany is at the top of the list with a recycling rate of 65%, followed by South Kores (59%), Austria (58%), Slovenia (58%), Belgium (55%), Switzerland (51%), Netherlands (50%), Sweden (50%), Luxembourg (48%), Iceland (45%), Denmark (44%) and United Kingdom (43%).

The conversion of metallic debris into reusable items reduces pollution and demand for natural resources, such as wood and minerals, which feature critical depletion thresholds.

For being aware of the innovations and the potential of this market, it is essential, inside this value chain, to apply equipment that provides efficient scrap handling and processing. Among the solutions to mechanize it, the SCRAP CLAMP, a device that may be attached to overhead cranes, loaders or forestry cranes on trucks.

The Scrap Clamp for Forestry Cranes, manufactured by joint venture – PENZSAUR was designed to quickly handle the most diverse types of scrap, such as rubber, shreds of tire, iron, can, wire, paper, etc. Installed onto a Forestry Crane, it features different types of teeth (grippers), ensuring efficient handling, grip and longer service life.
